When Schuil Coffee set out to grow beyond their loyal customer base, they knew it would take more than just good coffee to stand out. Competing in a crowded market filled with national brands and local favorites, the challenge was clear: how do you scale in a meaningful, sustainable way - and fast?
That's when Schuil Coffee partnered with us (TRALE) to make growth happen - the right way.

The Growth Challenge
Before working with TRALE, Schuil Coffee's e-commerce business was a small part of the overall brand - an underutilized channel with untapped potential.

One of the first things we did was dig deep into understanding the customer journey - because you grow what you don't understand.

What makes them choose a coffee brand?
What stops them from buying?
Why do Schuil's retail customers choose them over other brands?
We set out to answer that by asking a mix of qualitative and quantitative questions to better understand their motivations.
From these insights, we mapped out a clear customer journey - step by step, from first touch to repeat purchase.
This allowed us to see every opportunity to influence customer decisions, whether through messaging, product offers, or optimized checkout flows.

Step 2: Setting Lofty Growth Goals
From day one, we didn't aim for incremental growth. We set big, specific goals:
Turn e-commerce into a core part of Schuil's revenue
Reach $1 million in e-commerce sales
Build a repeatable, scalable system that keeps working
Setting these goals gave both TRALE and Schuil Coffee a clear north start to align every tactic and decision.

We knew Schuil needed to get in front of more of the right people - customers who would actually buy. We ran targeted campaigns designed to reach coffee lovers who hadn't heard of Schuil before and convince them to try something new.

Establishing trust and standing out in a competitive marketing by understanding the product market fit for specialty (flavored) coffee
Optimizing the E-Commerce Experience
Once we got traffic to the site, we focused on turning that traffic into paying customers. We helped improve:

Checkout flows
Post-purchase follow-ups to increase repeat sales
